This is a blended malt named after Nikka's founder, Masataka Taketsuru. Recognised as the founding father of Japanese whisky, Taketsuru was the first among his countrymen to go to Scotland to discover the art of whisky-making, which he brought back home with him, to Japan. As a disciplined craftsman, Taketsuru has always been in search of perfection in the art of blending his whiskies, a personality trait that inspired Nikka to create the Taketsuru Pure Malt. This whisky is a blend of casks from Yoichi and Miyagikyo, Nikka's two distilleries, and showcases an exquisite balance between great softness and deep complexity.
