Vilafonte is a Paarl estate founded as a partnership between Californian winemaker Zelma Long, viticulturist Phil Freese and South African Mike Ratcliffe. Series M is their Merlot-led Bordeaux-style blend, grown on the estate's ancient vilafontes soils. It is plush and generous, with dark plum, black cherry, mocha and spice framed by silky tannins. Lovely now with a decant, it will also reward a few years in the cellar.
