Monkey Shoulder is a blended malt Scotch whisky from William Grant & Sons, made from Speyside single malts. Its name honours the maltmen who turned barley by hand, a job that could leave them with a stiff shoulder. Smooth and mellow, it offers notes of vanilla, honey, orange zest and spiced oak. Lovely neat, but it was made for mixing and shines in highballs and whisky cocktails.
