Kanonkop Paul Sauer is the flagship red of Kanonkop Estate on the lower slopes of the Simonsberg in Stellenbosch, and one of South Africa's most celebrated wines. Named after Paul Sauer, a former owner of the farm, it is a Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Expect concentrated blackcurrant and dark fruit, cedar and spice, firm but fine tannins and excellent ageing potential. Serve with prime beef or lamb.
