Die Kat se Snor is the label of winemaker Gerhard Smith, formerly of Creation in the Hemel-en-Aarde. This Chardonnay is made from grapes grown on shale soils in the greater Overberg and matured in older oak barrels, so the wood stays in the background. Expect peach and citrus with a hint of flinty reduction, pure fruit, bright acidity and a pithy, understated finish. Lovely with fish, chicken or creamy dishes.
