The Alto Red Blend 2017 comes from Alto Estate on the steep slopes of the Helderberg in Stellenbosch, a farm renowned for its red wines. Aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, fresh mint and whole nutmeg lead into a full-bodied palate with slightly firm tannins. It is surprisingly fresh, with mineral undertones to the black fruit and a hint of tobacco leaf, showing lovely length and intensity. Serve with roast beef or lamb.
