The Macallan Edition No. 5 is the 2019 limited release in the annual series. Like preceding releases, Edition No. 5 continues the exploration into Macallan’s approach to whisky making. Matured exclusively in American oak casks, this release is designed to showcase the colour of Macallan’s whisky and features a label in a specially-created shade of purple from world renowned colour experts Pantone Color Institute. Naturally coloured and bottled at 48.5%.

Nose: Vanilla and toffee with notes of oak, nutmeg, ginger, lemon basil and pear.

Palate: Fresh and sweet with caramel moving into poached peaches and ripe pear. Quickly followed by a toffee sweetness with light oak spices in the form of nutmeg and hints of ginger in the background.

Finish: Long and sweet.
