In 2017 Diageo-owned Johnnie Walker renewed its focus on age statements by rebranding its Platinum Label edition as an 18yo expression. Created by Master Blender, Jim Beveridge, Johnnie Walker 18yo blended Scotch whisky is produced from a combination of up to 18 different whiskies, including classic Speyside malts such as Cardhu, Glen Elgin and Auchroisk; Highland malts including Blair Athol and aged island malts. Bottled at 43%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: A rich aroma, combining notes of rich, sweet fruit with hints of toffee and caramel.
Palate: A mix of warming, malty cereal and smooth creamy vanilla, with fragrant notes of almond and tropical tangerine.
Finish: Finishes with hints of dark chocolate, citrus peel and a very light, aromatic smoke.
